THE SILENCE TREAT

We need all the calm there is to life, and sometimes we can’t afford it because of the world we live in. The world we live in is different from the quiet womb we stepped out from. Everything seems to be a noise very unpleasing to the hearing and to the mental health. To get calm is like buying a fortune that can never trade.

From bad news, to unpleasant surprises to just anything! At some point, a lot of people slip into anxiety, overbearing stress and depression. It can be so overwhelming and disturbing. There is so much to figure out and it seems your brain might just burst into flames.

But despite the noise and the stress life tosses at us, we have to survive by all means. There is need to still listen to only that which is pleasing and productive. We have to train our ears and our minds to only be selective of the right things. Not everything should pass through your ear drums into your system, because what you hear with your ears is what you think on most or that you are anxious about. So, you can still afford the calm, it takes a life of practicing it.

The best coin to buy ‘calm and quiet’ especially for your mental health and your soul is through meditation. It is the only way to shut out of every unpleasant noise that comes in form of anxiety, stress or depression.

Amit Ray says, “Meditate, Visualize and Create your own reality and the universe will simply reflect back to you”

Sometimes, we don’t get to fight much of life’s battles. We can’t even fight them all even if we made an attempt to. We might even be killed at the battle field. But guess what! We win all of life’s battles in the place of meditation! How does that sound?

So, sometimes get a comfortable place and just shut down for few minutes. Here is what Ellen DeGeneres has to say about that “It feels good. Kinda like when you have to shut your computer down, just sometimes when it goes crazy, you just shut it down and when you turn it on, it’s okay again. That’s what meditation is to me”

Studies and several research confirms that meditation can even serve as medication for some people. It also changes your brain, and with it, the way your body responds to stress. Which works wonders on depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder. {paragraph culled from https://www.self.com/story/chrissy-teigen-postpartum-depression-months-after-giving-birth}

Meditation helps you to maintain focus. So despite the overwhelming noise, you are not distracted neither does the storms of life carry you away. Understand that this is productive when it is practiced daily. Just like Chelsea Richer puts it, “to earn the trust of your meditation, you have to visit it every day. It’s like having a puppy”.
