Workplace Needs

Assessment

Occupational therapists (OTs) help people of all ages facing challenges like physical disabilities, long-term conditions, learning disabilities, or mental health issues.

Occupational therapists (OTs) are regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and focus on helping people overcome obstacles to health, education, and employment.

The Royal College of Occupational Therapists has a dedicated ‘Work’ specialism for OTs interested in work, vocational rehabilitation, and occupational health. Their main goal is to assist people in staying at work, returning to work, or finding meaningful activities.

The Functional OT Workplace Needs Assessment by SASA H&S provides customized face-to-face and/or telephone-based OT evaluations for individuals struggling with daily activities due to ill health or injury, affecting their work performance.

The primary long-term goal of our assessments and subsequent interventions is to enhance work readiness and support a smooth return to work after an absence. The physical disabilities individuals experience are often varied and complex, frequently accompanied by psychological symptoms. SASA H&S OTs also assist individuals with cognitive and sensory challenges.

The specialist Functional OT Workplace Needs Assessment is designed for employees facing challenges related to:

We offer information and guidance on the best tools, equipment, training, and interventions, such as vocational rehabilitation, to support work inclusion. Our assessments use standardised methods and come with a detailed report, including recommendations and strategies, along with a professional clinical opinion to support work inclusion.

Functional OT Workplace Needs Assessments help employees, employers, and managers determine the maximum functional capacity of the employee to meet the physical and psychological demands of their job. Our holistic approach considers all aspects of a working role, whether physical, desk-based, or customer-facing, to identify strengths, weaknesses, and learning opportunities. This enables individuals to overcome barriers and succeed in their roles.
